Dutch singer-songwriter Julia Zahra is taking part in the Dutch television show De Beste Zangers van Nederland (English: The Best Singers of the Netherlands). In this television show established artists cover songs of other established artists. During last Saturday’s show Julia Zahra covered BZN’s relatively unknown song “Just An Illusion“. Looking at the Dutch iTunes Singles Chart and the reactions all over social media her cover will be the first success of this year’s season of De Beste Zangers van Nederland. “Just An Illusion” is currently on the second and thirteenth position in the Dutch iTunes Singles Chart.
Julia van der Toorn nowadays better known under her stage name Julia Zahra is a Dutch singer-songwriter who won the fourth season of The Voice of Holland. Her cover of Britney Spears’ “Oops! …. I Did It Again” which she sang at her first audition became a huge hit in the Netherlands. In the beginning of 2014 Julia Zahra released her debut album “Julia van der Toorn” which reached the top 3 of the Dutch Albums Chart.
